believe the 72y/3m/12d is a transcription error because both the Heald
Manuscript and Jameson (1901), p. 112, report she was born 4 April
1823.

- According to Heinen (1992), p. 19, John Watson, father of
Elizabeth, was a son of a Robert Watson who married Miss Moody.
Although there is circumstantial evidence, to my knowledge, there is no
valid evidence to connect this Robert Watson to our Robert W. Watson
(#1 of “Watsons”), but I suspect there is a relationship. Some
descendants of John and Rebecca Bradley Watson did intermarry with
Robert W. Watson’s line and with the Henderson and Lytle line.
Elizabeth Watson's sister Jane Watson married David Henderson (#6 of
“Hendersons”)—brother of Margaret (Henderson) Watson. One of David and
Jane Watson Henderson’s daughter, Esther Henderson (#35 of
“Hendersons”), married John Fleming—son of Andrew and Ann (McClintock)
Fleming. A son of David and Jane (Watson) Henderson, Marcus Henderson
(#37 of “Hendersons”), married Jane Kerr and one of Marcus and Jane’s
daughters, Bertha Henderson (#142 of “Hendersons”), married Marion John
Lytle—son of James and Susan (Watson) Lytle.

- Roger Williams, Cambridge graduate, chaplain in Essex,
Separatist, and fresh off the ship Lyons came to the Massachusetts Bay
Colony in February 1631. Williams immediately got into trouble with the
governing body by suggesting civil magistrates had no authority in
religious matters. So out to Salem he went. But his views were out of
step there as well, although most everyone thought he was a likable,
charming person. Roger Williams then went to Plymouth Colony. In a year
he was causing an uproar, claiming the Pilgrims might not have any
right to the land they had settled, because the land belonged to the
Indians.. Bradford and the other Pilgrims were glad to see Reverend
Williams on his way back to Salem. In Massachusetts the authorities
purposed to ship him back to England as a nuisance. But instead he was
steered to Narrangsett Bay and the Indians, and eventually across
Narrangsett Bay where he was given land by the Indians and their chief,
Canonicus. Roger Williams founded the town of Providence and the first
Baptist Church in America. According to Dillon (1973), pp 210-211,
Roger William “. . . established complete religious toleration and
almost complete civil liberty . . . Roger Williams, without turning
native, became a profound admirer of the Indians and a student of their
languages. There have been far too few Roger Williamses in the history
of America, indeed in the history of the world.” [This account of Roger
Williams was taken from page 257 of Morison, S. E. (1952) (editor). Of
Plymouth Plantation. 1620-1647, by William Bradford. Sometime

Washington Fleming, Franklin (Pennsylvania) Public Library, obituary
abstracts, Citizens Press (Franklin), 16 January 1902. Probably
the
Seeleys moved west before the 1870 federal census for Venango County,

been in Venango County as late as 1883 (see land deed under her name).
