In 1910, Albert, Gertrude and daughter Doris were living in Oconee Township, Platte County, Neberaska (census page 1A), where Albert was enumerated as a section foreman for the railroad. Also in the family in 1910 was Gertrude's mother Sarah Strain, widow, born circa 1854 in Iowa. Albert apparently died before the 1920 federal census when Gertrude Creps, widow, and Gertrude's daughter Doris Fleming were living in Lincoln, Ward 1, Lancaster County, Neberaska (page 6A), where Gertrude was listed as an elevator operator in a department store. In 1930, Gertrude Johnson and husband Joe M. Johnson (born circa 1886 in Nebraska) were living in Lincoln, Nebraska (page 14B). Also in the family in 1930 was Gertrude's mother, Sarah Strain, and Gertrude's married daughter Doris Smock and Doris's daughter Joyce Ann Smock.
